The party interrogated the surviving olive slime infected goblin. He spoke about some Master somewhere in the cave complex, and told the party that there was a cache of Cindershards. After repeated attempts to get more detailed information, Bashgar got fed up and threw the creature against a wall, killing it.
The party decided to move deeper into the cave and stop this Master. In the next cavern, the party was attacked by a large ooze creature that resembled a Grey Render (there’s a lot of those around apparently). After a harrowing battle, the party emerged victorious, though quite battered and bruised (not Ardourus of course, horse shoe up his ass and all). The party continued on, following the goblin’s instructions, but now they only had two cindershards. Ardourus and Bashgar volunteered to drive deeper into the mine seeking more cindershards.
The two avoided confrontation with a black ooze and proceeded across a narrow natural rock bridge over a swirling maelstrom of chaos. The emanations confused the two adventurers, and they ended up fighting each other. They did eventually cross, thanks to their rings of levitation, gathered the shards and made their way back. Unfortunately, they neglected to put the shards a bag of holding, so all 14 shards are now exposed to Sickstone, and have a brief lifespan of 24 hours.
Reunited, the party continued on, and discovered a stream, which everyone but Locke jumped over, and Henrick the Cleric fell afoul of a growth of Yellow Mold, which while painful resulted in a cache of magic items.
The party jumped back over the river and made their way down another tunnel to a room obviously used for foul worship of a dark god, guarded by three small and three human sized ooze creatures. This is where we leave the journal
